• Levi Christiansen (b. 1985, Arizona) is a photographer based in Tucson whose work explores the intersections of personal history, cultural identity, and the broader American psyche. Growing up in the American Southwest, his worldview was shaped by the tensions between belief, belonging, and disillusionment. His long-form, film-based projects reflect the contradictions of contemporary American experience and the instability of truth within personal and collective narratives.

  • My practice uses analog photography to engage with the tension between perception and experience. I work with found moments—scenes that are unposed yet charged—allowing the ordinary to reveal complexity and contradiction. I am drawn to contrasts: intimacy and instability, clarity and uncertainty, the familiar and the uncanny. These photographs explore how narratives unfold in everyday life, reflecting the instability of truth and the subtle forces that shape how we inhabit the world. The work is both observational and interpretive, creating a space to notice the unexpected rhythms, textures, and tensions that structure experience.
